Director of Federal Services

Amida is currently looking for an experienced Director of Federal Services to serve as the account manager for all Amida’s federal services/contracts.  You will be the primary customer point of contact for all federal projects and the federal line of business. You will be responsible for the successful growth and execution of the federal business. You will work to identify additional revenue streams while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. 

What you will be doing:

  • Support Amida’s vision and Strategic Plan and goals.
  • Understand the value drivers of Amida’s current business and help identify and realize additional, adjacent capabilities to help grow the business.
  • Understand the federal market vis a vis Amida’s strategy and capabilities and help identify growth areas and opportunities to grow market share, revenue, and profit.
  • Review existing services and markets and conduct market research and analysis and produce business plans/recommendations (including associated risks, costs, investments, and forecasted revenue for the business), to help optimize business development activities.
  • Develop, monitor, and report progress against an annual account plan including a strategy that aligns with the overall corporate strategy and tactical plans and measures and serves as a baseline for the account.
  • Meet regularly with existing and potential customers to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities to grow the business.
  • Ensure that all projects in the federal program develop and track project plans and schedules and provide progress reports against the plan that you will monitor through monthly technical reviews and interim program reviews (IPRs).
  • Ensure that Federal projects meet contract requirements including deliverables on a timely basis and with high quality.
  • Manage the preparation of project budgets and track resources compared to forecast 
  • Understand the technologies supporting Amida’s work.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
  • B.S/B. A in a related field/ Master's Degree (e.g., Business Administration, Information Systems Management or a related field)
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) experience of an account of projects exceeding $5M in annual revenue
  • At least 10 years of IT project management and federal experience
  • Strong leadership skills and experience
  • Excellent, confident communicator (written and verbal) with excellent presentation skills
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Proven strategic aptitude/ability
  • Experience in building/growing a business with an entrepreneurial approach
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects or assignments while ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery for all work products and deliverables
  • Prior experience working on or managing IT solutions projects for federal agencies
  • Excellent analysis, facilitation, mediation, negotiation and client relationship skills
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to interact effectively with clients, technical staff and management across all levels
  • Ability to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment
  • A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience working on or managing projects related to open source software development, data ingestion/transformation, IOT and/or cybersecurity
