Capture Manager

Amida is currently looking for a dynamic Capture Manager to join our team. You will have the experience to further scale Amida’s growth within both commercial organizations and federal government departments and agencies. You will be responsible for winning new business opportunities ($10M or higher or considered strategic) in the federal government and commercial sales marketplace. The individual in this role will ensure that appropriate capture activities occur, and capture efforts are consistent with a structured approach and will provide management oversight. Develop and execute a detailed Capture Strategy Plan for major opportunities within Amida’s pipeline.

You will also be responsible for the identification, development, qualification, and prioritization of new customer opportunities. Any data-dependent organization is a target customer.   The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the federal sales rhythms and commercial sales cycles and be able to lead Amida’s efforts in winning new business. Maintain enough pipeline volume across all business acquisition process phases to meet targeted quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year bookings goals.

What you will be doing: 

  • Draft and continually update the Capture Plan
  • Establish external teaming partnerships related to capture pursuits
  • Work with senior leadership on the capture and proposal phases by supporting and monitoring all required actions throughout the bid lifecycle
  • Lead, facilitate, and coordinate proposals
  • Travel to customer and partner sites (typically in the DMV)
  • Participation in industry organization, tradeshows, communities of interest on behalf of Amida
  • Engage with channel partners to accelerate the adoption of Amida’s open-source data solutions
  • Manage existing and build new partnerships with clients and companies in order to identify new opportunities and add value to existing client base
  • Manage effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners to maintain schedule commitments, resolve conflicts, identify risks, and sustain an efficient proposal life cycle
  • Work with the team to continue to create and customize marketing materials tailored to the appropriate federal and commercial audiences
  • Provide input on the cost to win/price to win
  • Conduct and contribute to Step, Pricing, Teaming, Capture and Proposal reviews
  • Prepare documentation in support of bid decision process, providing reviews and updates
  • Drive the development of, and contribute to the completion of critical bid artifacts, as required for proposal development; ensure the integrity of win strategy through a supporting role in color reviews
  • Define win strategy criteria based upon RFP and information acquired in the qualification phase
  • Perform corporate Business Growth processes, documenting and properly storing all required artifacts to enhance our growth strategy and professional culture
  • Help prepare quarterly competitive intelligence and market research opportunities for external seminars/conferences where Amida can extend its thought leadership and brand
  • Identify, monitor and manage opportunities that are appropriate for Amida using FedBizOpps, eBuy, GovWin, and other lead sourcing tools

What we are looking for: 

  • 5+ years of related experience of Federal Government Capture and Commercial Sales, OR Business Development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree  
  • An understanding of “solution sales” business models and the ability to create a consistent message across and between data-centric solutions that touch a variety of use cases
  • Proven track record in identifying and capturing new business, as well as maintaining customer relationships for follow-on work
  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management and execution skills including clear methods for tracking action items, consistent follow-up with involved parties, and ability to lead executive briefings on opportunities and progress
  • An understanding of “open source” business models and culture
  • A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Proven technical knowledge/understanding and ability to work with a technical team
  • High attention to detail and the capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Prior experience managing a proposal from initiation to delivery and the ability to develop compelling win themes, messaging, marketing materials, and white papers for both commercial and federal clients
  • Prior experience working in a growth company environment to include the ability to wear many hats, pick up new skills quickly and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced company with limited infrastructure (on purpose)
